Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
Classes and Testing
Alyeska Canine Trainers is proud to offer the American Kennel Club’s
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test. The purpose of the CGC Program is
to recognize dogs who are well-behaved companions at home and in
the community. The 10-step CGC Test is open to all mixed breed and
purebred dogs. Test items assess behaviors such as Sitting Politely
for Petting, Coming When Called, Walking Through a Crowd, and Reactions
to Distractions. All of our Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes
are geared to prepare you for the CGC.
Periodically, Alyeska Canine Trainers also offers a six week CGC
prep class. This class is designed to explain the specific test
procedures and requirements, as well as to help you your dog be
successful during the test.
2010 Test Dates:
Saturday, March 20
Sunday May 2
Sunday June 6
Saturday July 17
Future dates TBD (next test may not be until October)
Testing begins at 1:00 pm on a first-come first-served
basis (with accomodations made for persons with multiple dogs). Cost: $5.00 per dog.
