Come Train with us!
News and Announcements
Nosework is scent detection work for civilian dogs. The dogs are trained to find the hidden scented objects indoors, outdoors, on vehicles and in boxes.
BEFORE a dog can enter a
NACSW™K9 Nose Work trial,
the OWNER and the DOG MUST be REGISTERED with NACSW™
AND the DOG MUST PASS an
Odor Recognition Test (ORT).
There will be a Nose Work Trial in Anchorage in May.
Also, AKC has Scent Work available as a titling sport. No ORT required.
Flyball is a relay race for dogs.
Each team has 4 dogs on it. The first dog is released to jump over 4 hurdles, hit a box that launches a tennis ball, carry the tennis ball in their mouth, jump back over the 4 hurdles and the next dog on the team is sent. Fastest team done wins. This is frequently in under 20 seconds.
ACT is usually the location for winter, indoor flyball tournaments. We also offer an Introduction to Flyball class a few times a year. Contact one of the local flyball clubs for more information.

This opportunity is open to purebreds and mixed breeds! All dogs must be registered with AKC through regular AKC registration, AKC Canine Partners or AKC Purebred Alternative Listing.
Dogs must successfully perform tricks in front of a current AKC CGC Evaluator to title.
There is no minimum age!
